Life's a Beach!

Several months ago MaMaw mentioned she would like to take the "kids" to the beach at some point this summer. Sounds like a great idea right? Only problem is Xander has never been to the beach. Pools - yes. Lakes - yes. Rivers - yes. Ocean - no. Paula and I kinda wanted to be there for his first experience at a "never ending pool" so we asked mom if we could go Labor Day weekend. Mom took care of making the plans and so we found ourselves on Orange Beach for Labor Day weekend.

We thought we had thought of everything...well except Gustav. The good news is Gustav stayed offshore long enough for us to have a great weekend. We ended up leaving a day early to come home but other than that we were not impacted too greatly. Little bit windier on Sunday and we really couldn't get in the surf too much but Xander had the time of his life. He wants to go back the next time he has a day off from school.

Guess we will have to talk with MaMaw on going back next year. Maybe this time we can go without Hurricanes.
